Programme : The Habitat III Conference will be composed of the opening plenary meeting on 17 October 2016, six other plenary meetings, six high-level roundtable sessions, and the closing plenary on 20 October 2016. A lively stakeholder forum, which will include the Exhibition, the Habitat III Village, Dialogues, Special Sessions, Side Events, Networking Events, and Stakeholders Roundtables, will start on 15 October 2016 and will be held in parallel with special sessions and urban talks organized by member states, the UN system, and stakeholders.

While only UN accredited organizations may apply to make statements in the plenaries, anyone can register and have access to majority of the events taking place at the conference venue. Organizations with accreditation (via ECOSOC, as well as organizations accredited through Habitat II, through the Habitat III preparatory committees, and through the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit 2015) that wish to have “accredited stakeholder” badges in order to have access to the Plenary Meeting and the High-Level Roundtables, if space allows, and in order to be eligible to apply to make a statement in the Plenary, must submit a delegation letter from the organization to Habitat3Conference@un.org signed by the head of organization or authorizing officer, by 1 October 2016.

These events will gather organizations, groups, and governments that have been involved throughout the Habitat III process and will provide them with an opportunity to collaborate, innovate, and create partnerships and linkages that will ensure that the goals of the New Urban Agenda are realized at every level.
